1Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how ParentBoost Ltd (“ParentBoost”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies across our digital properties:
- Marketing website: parentboost.co.uk
- Registration and sign-up pages: app.parentboost.co.uk/signup (and related registration flows)
- Logged-in application: app.parentboost.co.uk (authenticated sessions)
By using our website or app, and by accepting cookies when prompted, you consent to our use of cookies in accordance with this policy. You can withdraw or adjust your consent at any time using the cookie preference centre accessible from the footer of our website.
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
2What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use an app. They are widely used to make websites and apps work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the website or app owner.
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags (also called web beacons or tracking pixels). This policy covers all of these technologies, collectively referred to as cookies.
3How We Obtain Your Consent
When you first visit our marketing website or registration pages, we display a cookie consent banner. This banner allows you to:
- Accept all cookies, including optional analytics and advertising cookies
- Decline all non-essential cookies
We will not set any non-essential cookies until you have given your consent. If you have an account, you can change your choice at any time in your Profile.
Your choice is saved in a cookie shared by parentboost.co.uk and app.parentboost.co.uk, so you are only asked once when you move from our website to the app.
Your consent is recorded with a timestamp and stored for 12 months, after which we will ask for your preferences again.
Within the logged-in application (app.parentboost.co.uk), the only storage technologies used are essential cookies and PostHog product analytics. PostHog analytics is not essential, so we use it only with your consent, and you can turn it off at any time in your settings. It is configured not to collect any special category data or information about your children. No advertising or marketing pixels are present in the logged-in application.
4The Cookies We Use
4.1 Essential Cookies (Always Active)
These cookies are strictly necessary for our service to function and cannot be switched off. They are present across all areas of our service.
- Supabase authentication tokens: Used to keep you logged in to your account during your session and across sessions if you choose to stay signed in. Stored in local storage.
- Security and session tokens: Used to protect your account and prevent cross-site request forgery.
- Cookie consent preferences (pb_cookie_consent): Remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, for 12 months. Stored as a cookie on parentboost.co.uk and in local storage.
4.2 Analytics Cookies (Require Consent; Marketing Website and Registration Pages)
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our marketing website and registration pages. All information is used to improve our service and marketing.
- PostHog (marketing website): We use PostHog on our marketing website to understand visitor behaviour and improve our content. For more information, see posthog.com/privacy.
- Where you came from (pb_first_touch): If you arrive from a link we have shared, such as one on our Instagram or TikTok, we keep the campaign tags from that link, the page you landed on and the name of the website that sent you in a first-party cookie for up to 90 days. If you then sign up, we save them with your account so we can see which links bring new members. Never anything about your children or your family. Decline and nothing is stored.
Within the logged-in application, PostHog is also used for product analytics under a separate data processing agreement, as disclosed in our Privacy Policy. Because analytics is not strictly necessary, we use it on the basis of your consent and you can opt out at any time in your settings.
4.3 Marketing and Advertising Pixels (Require Consent; Marketing Website Only)
These pixels are placed by our advertising partners and are active only on our homepage, our brands page and our advertising landing page on parentboost.co.uk. They are never active on our guides, on registration or sign-up pages, or within the logged-in application where your account and family data are held.
We use these pixels to:
- Measure whether someone who clicked one of our ads subsequently signed up for ParentBoost (conversion tracking)
- Build audiences of people similar to our existing users for advertising purposes (lookalike audiences)
The pixels we use are:
- Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram): Records visits to those pages to measure advertising effectiveness on Facebook and Instagram. It sets the _fbp cookie. For more information, see facebook.com/policy.php.
- TikTok Pixel: Records visits to those pages to measure the performance of our advertising on TikTok. It sets the _ttp, ttclid, ttcsid and _tt_enable_cookie cookies. For more information, see tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Important: These pixels only record which of those pages you visited. They do not run on any other page, they do not fire after you have logged in, and they never have access to your account data, children’s information, or any data held within the application. Sign-ups and purchases are measured from our own server instead, as described in 4.4.
4.4 Server-Side Conversion Measurement (Requires Consent)
Accepting advertising cookies also lets us measure conversions that happen after you have logged in, such as completing a signup or buying a gift card. This is done from our own server rather than by a script in your browser, so no advertising code ever runs inside the logged-in application.
Accepting advertising cookies allows two things:
- Storing an ad click identifier. If you arrive from one of our ads, we store the click identifier from that link in a first-party cookie (pb_fbc or pb_ttclid) for up to 90 days, so a later signup can be matched to the ad that brought you here. Decline and nothing is stored.
- Sending a conversion record. When you sign up or make a purchase, our server tells the relevant advertising platform that a conversion happened. The record contains only a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address, the ad click identifier if we have one, your IP address and browser type, and the value and currency of the purchase.
We never send your name, your children’s information, or anything about your family circumstances. The list above is the complete set of what leaves our servers. If you decline advertising cookies, or withdraw later in your settings, the click identifier is deleted and no further conversion records are sent.

7How Long Do Cookies Last?
Cookies can be either session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (remain on your device for a set period).
Our essential authentication cookies persist for up to 7 days or until you sign out. PostHog analytics cookies persist for up to 1 year. Third-party marketing pixels may set cookies that persist for up to 180 days, subject to the policies of the relevant platform. If you decline or withdraw consent, we delete the cookies these pixels set, our own ad click cookies and pb_first_touch.
8Managing Your Cookie Preferences
Changing Your Choice
If you have an account, you can accept or withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time in your Profile. Analytics and advertising cookies are covered by one choice. Without an account, you can clear this site’s cookies and site data in your browser and we will ask you again.
Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically view and delete individual cookies, block third-party cookies, block all cookies, or be notified when a cookie is set. Please note that blocking essential cookies will affect the functionality of our service and may prevent you from logging in.

- We do not use profiling or behavioural advertising based on children’s data
- We apply the highest privacy settings by default within the application
- No data collected from within the logged-in application is shared with advertising or analytics platforms
